Create outbound calls
Start outbound conversations using an active Voice Agent configured in your Anthropod account. The agent uses its configured telephony connection, voice, and conversation instructions.
Submit calls to the queue
Use Create outbound calls to submit recipients for processing. The response returns a processing_id and status: queued. The API reference documents the request fields, response examples, and errors.
Prepare your agent and request
Use the existing account API key from your backend. Your agent must be active, authorized for the account, connected to telephony, and have sufficient balance. Send the recipient number in the provider’s configured format, your customer ID, and any variables required by the agent.
Send 1–20 recipients per request.
Errors and retries
queued indicates that the call request was accepted for processing. Retain the batch processing ID alongside your customer IDs.
Keep provider-specific connection details on your backend. They vary by provider. If a timeout leaves the outcome unknown, reconcile the request and callback before retrying to avoid duplicate calls.
Results and callbacks
Configure Voice Agents Callback URL in Dashboard → Developer Hub → Configuration. Follow the webhook guide for product-specific post-call results, outcomes, analytics, and recording information when enabled. Analytics can finish after the call ends.
Use callback identifiers to match results to your requests. Batch processing IDs, Voice Agent conversation IDs, and Conversation Analytics IDs are distinct. Use the Voice Agent conversation APIs to retrieve session data.
